You may have probably seen people going on trips, taking a break on weekends, posting their vacation photos on social media and enjoying themselves. On seeing their posts, you console yourself that they are enjoying themselves now but they will need to work hard, later on, to earn money when they retire.
But your inner self craves a holiday too.
I don’t get why people advice to earn money now so that we can enjoy a peaceful life when we retire at old age. Whats the use of getting a pot of gold when the best days of our life has already been spent.
I am always in favor of achieving happiness and desires in present than in future because who knows whats in there for me tomorrow.
Tomorrow is always unpredictable. That’s why one should have a set of short-term goals which collide towards a long-term goal which really makes us happy. You should note that not every goal we set makes us happy. For example- Being a kid when we had exams to take care off, we used to set a goal of studying a fixed number of hours a day to score an A grade. After achieving that goal, did that actually made us happy? I bet it didn’t. The whole purpose of the exam is not to score an A or a passing grade just by vomiting what we studied the last night, but the real purpose is for the students to actually learn something from the portion covered in the exam.
So now, if you get my point, your every action, every small and large goal you set for yourself must actually serve a purpose of making you and your life around you happy. If you are working in a company just to earn money but not for the skills acquired during the work, QUIT your job today, because that doesn’t make any sense.
I strongly believe in taking regular breaks from your work, even for a short amount of time, to know yourself better.
Taking a break boosts creativity that gets lost in the daily working environment.
Taking a break allows you to buy ample time of solitude for yourself to ponder upon what actually makes you happy.
Taking a break motivates you to work harder towards your goal.
Taking a break makes you more human and less machine.
Taking a break for yourself helps you to love yourself more than ever. You get to meet your smiling face, hear your interesting thoughts, witness your madness and admire your passion towards your goals.
Taking a break helps you to meet cool people, know the world from their perspective which opens your area of creativity to apply on a larger scale of audience.
So Spiders, Today’s thought is that if you feel that you need to see more of you and less of work to make you happy, do take a break. Be it a one day visit to an amusement park, weekend trip to a beach or a week holiday to the hills.
We recently took a 10-day break from our work after 2 years of constant work to Bir Billing. We will soon post complete details of our trip for you guys to digest.
So Spiders, that is all for today till then
